Event Monitoring - Design 1.

Simple Event Monitoring using the VerifiedAlarms network, a broadband router, Panasonic BB (511,531) and an infra-red sensor.

The most straightforward way to protect property is with a single sensor, a camera and a broadband connection. There is no requirement for a recording device, transmitter or any other piece of equipment (except perhaps some lighting).

Connect a (12V) infra red detector to the camera (or use the camera's inbuilt motion detection if the camera is installed inside a building and the lighting is good) - The BB camera range can switch and power a 12V infra red detector, see technical for information regarding the load that the camera can support.

These Panasonic models support Power Over Ethernet (POE) making installation easy.  Just connect the network cable to a switch or POE injector and connect to the camera.

The camera is connected to the network and configured in VerifiedAlarms.

See 'How to connect a BB range camera to VerifiedAlarms' for more information.

Connect the alarm output from the infra red detector to the camera.

Select mobile telephone/email monitoring or professional Alarm Receiving Centre monitoring - see partners for details of the ARCs that have Merlin installed.

The system can be armed and disarmed in a variety of ways:

  • Mobile telephone using SMS text or mobile internet
  • Remote PC/Notebook
  • Merlin using timer or manual set command

There is no limit to the number of cameras that can be installed at a remote location using this method. Each camera can be set in groups and controlled as a separate zone.

Features.

  • Each camera can be programmed to send images to the VerifiedAlarms network in alarm avoiding the necessity for local on-site recording.
  • Each camera can be programmed to send timed images (time lapse) to the VerifiedAlarms network avoiding the necessity for local on-site recording.
  • Control the cameras remotely with arm/disarm status message sent to keyholders/ARC.
  • ARC can check armed/disarmed status by using amr/disarm software built into Merlin.
  • Alarm optionally sent to mobiles/email and ARC.
  • VerifiedAlarms network will poll the cameras ensuring that the system is available and cameras are operational.
  • Low cost method of providing event security.
  • System can be linked to intruder alarm (if installed) so that correct camera is called in the event of alarm (optional).
  • Select which cameras you wish the ARC to monitor (reducing monitoring costs).
