Initsys has experience in design and command and control rooms.

These cover manned guarding control rooms to BS 7499, Alarm Receiving Centres to BS 5979, TSA (Team Situational Awareness) training and CCTV control rooms to BS 7958.

We also have our own recommendations that we apply to the design of control rooms and their operation, these are based on various discovery made since the relevent standards were written. We also have a common sense approach document to control room design and implementation related to factory and plant and process systems and a video wall use and application document.

Any organization attempting to grapple with the complexities of PSIM must do so within the context of a range of other issues - for example managing day-to-day operations - with limited resources. Given such demands, implementation of an PSIM system can be seen as simply another investment on time, money and manpower. The process outlined in BS ISO/IEC 17799:2000  is specifically designed to help address the main problems of human and financial resource restrictions faced by any organization.

Our PSIM implementation in Merlin3 is designed to maximise operator attention levels by removing mundane day to day "noise" from their activity and providing them with real world information graded and assessed by the software to help build their feeling of purpose.
